My family and I were expecting my third child when we called up Julie at Mommy and Baby to help us find a nanny that would fit with our family. I'm not a native korean nor is my husband so we would need a nanny that would be able to speak just a bit of English to get by with us. Julie over-delivered with Jin Lee Prezioso. We interviewed Jin prior to having the baby and she not only spoke English but she was also very warm and delightful.
When it was time to come home from the hospital, "Mama Jin" arrived at our house before we got there and started getting things ready to take care of myself and my new baby girl. It was early evening and she immediately took over baby duty while I went to my room to rest. She would come in every 2-3 hours to bring the baby to me to feed. When the baby was done, she would take the baby away to burp, change, and soothe the baby to sleep. During the day, Jin not only took care of the baby, she also took great care of me too. Not only was she making me these amazing meals, she was also making juices and snacks for me all through the day. My husband was enjoying his meals also. Every evening he would compliment and thank Jin for another amazing meal. On top of that, leftovers were always placed in a nice bento for my husband to take to work.
Mama Jin would give me massages where I needed them. She also made my sitz baths for healing the perineum and guided me with exercises that helped align my hips back to normal. I'm sure I wouldn't have had such a speedy recovery had I not have had all this extra tlc (tender loving care).
My baby girl is actually my 3rd child. I have two other children (ages 5 and 2 1/2). Mama Jin gave them just as much love and care as she did their baby sister. She was always delighted to make meals for the boys as they ate dinner earlier than my husband and I. She especially loved it when my older son would give her a thumbs up for the yummy food he was getting to eat. Mind you, these boys are quite picky eaters and they gobbled up all the food that was given to them. She also gave them hugs and kisses to their delight. They absolutely adore her! My younger son would always ask, "Where's Mama Jin?" when he walks through the door and doesn't see her right away. This just shows how much of an impact she's made on our family.
Mama Jin has become a part of our family and a great companion to myself. We've had great talks and laughed over our many stories with each other. She has come to love my kids as much as my kids have come to love her. It really says something for someone to come into your home and seamlessly blend with every single one of the family members. We will be so devastated when it's time to say goodbye but we know that another lucky family will get the love and care that Mama Jin has bestowed among us.
