Hiring Jane was the best decision I made while I was pregnant, for the sake of my health and the baby's. 
My situation was a little different and unique. I live with my husband in San Francisco but decided to deliver and spend my maternity leave in OC at my parents' house.
I did let Jane know of the living situation ahead of time. She didn't mind that my dad is retired and is home all day and that my mom would be home in the evenings after work.
Also, I didn't let her know ahead of time, but she was very accommodating to my family and all my in-laws that stayed with us for an entire week. I hired her as a live-in nanny for 6 weeks, and with that, she cooked meals throughout the day for my husband and I, assisted with breastfeeding, pumping, laundry, cleaning, and hand massaging (back and legs), and last but not least, fed and burped my little one all throughout the night. The best traits of Jane were:
- Extremely clean
- Extremely punctual - especially when it comes to tracking and logging all of the baby's sleeping, eating, and diapering schedules
- Excellent cook - I usually would never compare someone's food to my mom's, but Jane's food was fantastic. She noticed my white husband would always look for apples in the mornings, and she would have a plate of beautifully peeled apple slices on a plate every morning
- Very structured and organized
If I were to have another baby, I'd hire Jane right away again. I don't know what my postpartum would've been like if it wasn't for Jane that saved me each day.
